Irish Bull Breeding Programme
Benefit from bulls born in Ireland, bred for Irish farmers. Bulls that are the result of high EBI cows and LIC’s premier genetics.
For over 20 years, Irish farmers have been using our high-quality pasture-based genetics. We are teaming up with Irish farmers to produce bulls from leading Irish herds through LIC’s genomic selection breeding programme in Ireland, the Irish Bull Breeding Programme (IBB). The IBB complements our flagship delivery of high quality daughter-proven New Zealand LIC genetics to Irish farmers with an LIC genomic bull offering from within Ireland itself.
As a member of LIC Ireland’s Premier Club, you could be a part of breeding the next generation of elite Irish bulls.
Submit your bull calves to be considered for the Irish Bull Breeding Programme or get in touch with us to inquire about signing up to the Premier Club here.
The Forwards® bulls are LIC Ireland’s young bulls from the Irish Bull Breeding Programme.
These bulls are bred from cows that rank favourably on EBI, most with strong LIC pedigrees, and the very best of LIC’s daughter proven bulls available through the Premier Club. Their sires are graduates of our rigorous four-year Sire Proving Scheme (SPS) that produces many of New Zealand’s top bulls.
Our breeding experts examine the bulls’ pedigree, physical attributes and dam performance as well as using LIC’s powerful genomic evaluation tool to provide a more accurate estimate of each bull’s genetic quality at a young age.
Uniquely, these bulls have both gBW and gEBI figures, with the very best picked for The Forwards® team.
We are proud to introduce the following Irish-bred bulls to the market. Click below to view:
